The Life House recovery program is rooted in the 12-step principle, a proven model of recovery from nearly any type of addiction. Although Life House operates 12 facilities in the East Bay, the Hayward location is the main office. The home offers shared rooms with bunk beds at less than $700 a month. They welcome women with children at an extra cost per child. Amenities include cable TV, free WiFi, and an onsite washer and dryer.

Founded in 2009, Valley Sober Living has expanded into a network of recovery residences serving Northern California. The homes exist to provide a structured rehabilitative environment for men and women in recovery from addiction.

The detox unit is a nonmedical, social model treatment program featuring a 32-bed short-term residential program for men and women in recovery from drug or alcohol addiction. An initial assessment can be conducted over the phone prior to admission into either the sober unit or the detox unit.

Half of Cherry Hill’s clients suffer from co-occurring mental health disorders. After the withdrawal phase, the patient is referred to the appropriate level of treatment and supportive services, which may include housing, medical or psychiatric services, job training, etc.

Although located about an hour from Antioch in East Palo Alto, Free at Last offers bilingual English and Spanish programs and services intended to help men and women struggling with addictive behaviors.
