You don’t have to be a lover of literature to be familiar with the name, “Mark Twain.” But don’t worry if you haven’t. After all, not every bibliophile knows that the real name of the great American writer and humorist known as Mark Twain is actually Samuel Langhorne Clemens.

The best place to learn a ton about Samuel Langhorne Clemens, aka Mark Twain, is to visit the city of Hartford in the USA. Hartford is the capital of Connecticut and that’s where you will find the 1874 mansion housing thousands of artifacts including the desk at which Twain wrote his best-known works.

Unfortunately, Hartford has lost more than a thousand lives to drug overdose in less than a year since the COVID-19 pandemic, about a 13% increase from the previous year. If you or a loved one needs help with substance use and mental health disorders, there are many treatment centers in Hartford and nearby cities that can provide professional help.

Aware Recovery Care is a drug and alcohol rehab. It is accredited by the Joint Commission to provide in-home behavioral health care. To earn the Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for this level of service shows that Aware Recovery has demonstrated continuous compliance with the Commission's high-performance standards.

Aware Recovery’s in-home treatment modality is based on the belief that addiction treatment is more effective if done in the home environment. This is a great option for individuals who had just completed an inpatient recovery program, and individuals who can’t afford a disruption in their work, school, or home obligations.

Aware Recovery brings the care you need to your own bed, around your own family. While Aware Recovery’s modality has strong advantages, in-home addiction treatment can’t be suitable for everyone. Midwestern Connecticut Council of Alcoholism, for example, offers flexible intensive outpatient programs that allow you to return home after treatment each day.

However, Aware takes person-centered treatment to a broader level. They provide the intensity and structure of inpatient facilities where the client lives. This modality also allows them to provide competent, safe, trauma-informed addiction treatment for those identifying as part of the LGBTQ+ community. In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, Aware Recovery assures its addiction specialists are specially trained in infection control.
